Field power supplies.
The need for flexible, modular systems shapes machine and system engineering. Decentralization of the system components has proven to be an important factor for success. It speeds up system planning, simplifies maintenance and enables an easy expansion of the system. In addition, control cabinets can be replaced by smaller versions or even completely dismantled.
With FIEPOS, short for FIEld POwer Supply, PULS presents a new type of power supply that was developed precisely for this environment: A decentralized field power supply with protection class IP54, IP65 and IP67 that is available ex stock, is easy to install and flexible enough to meet the diverse requirements of modular factory automation.
In short, PULS' field power supplies are the alternative to a power supply in the centralized control cabinet, decentralized on-site control box or a customer-specific solution.
Until now
Traditional system design with central IP20 power supply
The centralized supply of peripheral devices in the field requires long cable runs with a large cross-section. Due to the power losses caused by the long cables, the power supply must be over-sized.
New
Modular system design with IP54, IP65 and IP67 power supplies
FIEPOS field power supplies are perfect for supplying spacious applications with energy in a decentralized, efficient and flexible way. This enables a modular system structure as well as an effective expansion, maintenance and retrofitting of individual components of the system.

Benefits.
Save costs, time and space.
Flexibility
The compact housing with a high degree of ingress protection (IP54, IP65 and IP67) and various connector options enables the FIEPOS power supply to be installed flexibly outside of the control cabinet and directly on the machine.
Ease of use
The output voltage and the current-limited outputs (eFused series) can be monitored and set directly via the LED interface and the push buttons on the front of the device or remotely via IO-Link.
Cost savings
FIEPOS field power supplies make it possible to use shorter cables and smaller cable cross-sections. This not only saves on the costs of copper, but also on the installation work for the cabling. In addition, an all-in-one device can be used instead of several components. This means less effort in managing part numbers and less time effort in installation.
Space savings
Thanks to the integrated, current-limited outputs in the FIEPOS eFused series, no additional protection module is required. This saves space in the system. In addition, centralized control cabinets and decentralized on-site control boxes can be reduced and the space can be used to expand the system. Fewer components also mean more free space in the warehouse.

Field power supplies.
The alternative to a cabinet.
The FIEPOS eFused power supply is also available with a current-limited high-power channel (20 A) and an additional fused low-power channel (2–12 A). The compact field power supply can be attached directly to the machine and replaces decentralized on-site cabinets such as those comprising a 24 V 20 A power supply and an electronic fuse for creating an electric circuit compliant with NEC class 2 standards.
With the eFused version, it is no problem to supply decentralized loads with a high energy consumption and set up a NEC Class 2 circuit at the same time.
This means that the compact IP54, IP65 and IP67 power supplies can replace on-machine control boxes that consist of a 24 V 20 A power supply and an electronic fuse.

FAQs.
Questions and answers.
Possible uses
Where can the field power supplies be used?
The potential applications of FIEPOS field power supplies are nearly limitless. That said, modular applications in the field of conveyor systems, storage technology, robotics, control technology, regulation technology, and material handling in particular all benefit from this technology.
Mounting
Can the device also be mounted on the DIN rail?
Yes, the FIEPOS field power supplies can be mounted in three different ways: By simply attaching it to a DIN rail, by hanging and fixing it in place via the integrated keyholes, or by screw mounting. No matter which option you choose, no additional accessories are required.
Connectors
Which plug connectors are available?
The FIEPOS field power supplies are available with the following connector types: 7/8”, M12-L/-T/-A, HAN-Q series, and Quickon. Other plug configurations are available on request.
Temperature
What temperature range can the devices be used in?
The FIEPOS field power supplies can be operated in ambient temperatures ranging from -25 °C to +55 °C without any loss of performance. With linear derating, temperatures of up to +70 °C being allowed.
Extra power
Do the field power supplies have power reserves?
Yes, all devices provide 360 W or 600 W continuously (at an ambient temperature of up to +45 °C) and 200 % (600 W or 1,000 W) for 5 s.
Protection classes
What degree of ingress protection is available?
The robust FIEPOS devices are available with IP54 (dust-protected, splash-proof), IP65 (dust-tight, jet-proof), and IP67 (dust-tight, temporarily immersible) protection, making them well protected against water, dust, and other contaminants.
IO-Link
Which information is available via the IO-Link interface?
Via IO-Link, the FIEPOS power supply provides information about important parameters such as service life, temperature, voltage, current, etc. and alarms of overload, a faulty DC voltage or even if channels are triggered. Remote access is also possible via IO-Link. This enables the device to be switched on and off remotely, the voltage and tripping currents to be set and tripped channels to be reset.
NEC Class 2
Is it also possible to create NEC class 2 compliant circuits?
Yes, that’s possible with the FIEPOS eFused series. You can set the tripping current to the NEC class 2 standard either directly on the device or via IO‑Link. In the event of an overload, the current is limited for a set period. The current limitation then intervenes to ensure that the maximum permissible power peak of 100 VA defined for NEC class 2 is not exceeded at any point.
