Efficiency in power supply design also means keeping the number of installed components as low as possible. This conserves valuable resources and increases the system's reliability. The reliability and service life of the power supply can be increased by using high-quality components. For example, every product in the DIMENSION product family must have a minimum service life of 50,000h; at full load, voltage 120 V/230 V and +40 °C ambient temperature. This corresponds to a continuous operation of 5.5 years.
All PULS power supplies come without potting compound. This even applies to the IP67 versions of our field power supplies, which are protected against the ingress of dust and water. Many other manufacturers use a potting compound to increase the robustness of their power supplies against environmental influences. However, potting makes recycling difficult and thus harms the environment.
The burn-in test detects defective devices before delivery. But these quality tests require a lot of energy. PULS has developed an innovative energy recovery system and can thus reuse more than 92 % of the energy.
PULS has fully equipped the roof of its plant in Suzhou, China, with solar cells. This installation has an output of 526 kWp, which corresponds to approx. 500,000 kWh per year. This allows to cover a part of the energy demand of the manufacturing site. The European PULS buildings will be equipped with solar cells by the end of 2022.
