What does AWG mean?

AWG (American wire gauge) describes the diameter and cross section of wires. The AWG system is mainly used in North America.

The figures in brackets after the AWG measurement indicate the strand structure. For example: AWG14(19/27) is a stranded wire made up of 19 solid wires of AWG27.
